PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The Technical Services Engineer is the technical authority within the department. This is a hybrid role that combines site-based inspections, job scope assessments, and quality control with office-based coordination responsibilities. The Engineer bridges the gap between field operations and the office — ensuring that scope of works, materials specifications, pricing, and job timelines are accurate and commercially sound. You will supervise and guide our technicians and be a trusted point of contact for customers during site visits.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

A. Site Inspections & Job Scope

  • Conduct site visits to customers' homes and commercial properties to assess and define the scope of work for AC repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, renovations, and maintenance jobs. Prepare detailed technical scope-of-work documents, specifying labour requirements, materials, equipment, timeframes, and access considerations. Provide expert recommendations to customers on repair vs. replacement, system upgrades, and best-value solutions. Take before-and-after photographs and complete site inspection reports following each visit. Diagnose faults and deficiencies in clients’ AC, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems during site visits — identifying root causes, not just symptoms, and clearly communicating findings to the customer. Define and specify the full scope of work for each job following diagnosis — producing a clear, itemised scope document that covers the work required, methodology, access requirements, and any dependencies or exclusions. Produce a complete materials and equipment list for every scoped job — specifying part numbers, quantities, brands, and technical standards required — and submit this to the procurement team in advance of the job commencement date. Determine and confirm the correct manpower allocation for each job — specifying the number of technicians required, the skill sets needed, and the time required to complete the work — ensuring the team deployed matches the job demand. Take ownership of budget and delivery accountability for each job — ensuring that the work is delivered within the agreed cost estimate and on schedule, and raising flags promptly if scope changes, material issues, or on-site discoveries are likely to affect either. Identify upsell or cross-sell opportunities during site visits and communicate these to the sales and customer support team.

B. AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) Management

  • Oversee the scheduling, delivery, and renewal of AMC contracts across AC, plumbing, and electrical service lines. Track AMC visit schedules and coordinate technician attendance with the operations team. Review AMC performance data, identify recurring issues, and propose improvements to service packages. Liaise with the customer support team to ensure AMC customers receive proactive service communication.

C. Technical Team Management & Quality Control

  • Supervise and direct AC technicians and maintenance staff on site and remotely. Conduct quality control inspections on active and completed jobs — including unannounced spot checks at customer premises. Verify job completion to the required standard before sign-off and customer handover. Identify training needs within the technical team and work with management to address skills gaps. Provide on-site coaching and technical guidance to junior technicians.

D. Office-Based Coordination & Commercial Support

  • Review and validate all customer quotes produced by the sales and customer support team — ensuring accuracy of scope, labour hours, materials, and pricing. Challenge and correct job time allocations in the booking system where these do not reflect real job requirements. Provide the procurement team with accurate, specification-level materials lists for all jobs — preventing under-ordering, over-spend, or wrong-part deliveries. Maintain an updated technical knowledge base of common job types, standard scopes, and preferred materials/brands for reference by the office team. Attend daily/weekly operations meetings to review the job schedule, flag technical concerns, and input on resource planning.

E. Customer Relations & Communication

  • Represent The Fab Crew professionally at all customer sites — communicating clearly, respectfully, and with technical authority. Manage customer expectations on job timelines, parts availability, and outcomes. Handle customer technical escalations referred by the customer support team.

F. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all site works comply with UAE health and safety regulations and DEWA/DCD requirements where applicable. Verify that technicians are using correct PPE, tools, and working practices on all jobs. Report any site safety concerns, near-misses, or incidents to management immediately.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Qualification

Degree or Higher Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, HVAC/Refrigeration Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline — must be attested for UAE

UAE Experience

Minimum 4 years in a technical supervisory or engineering role within the UAE home/commercial services sector

Technical Skills

Strong working knowledge of AC systems, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical services; ability to read technical drawings and specifications

Scope & Quoting

Proven experience preparing scope-of-work documents and reviewing technical quotations

AMC Management

Prior experience managing or coordinating Annual Maintenance Contracts

Driving Licence

Valid UAE driving licence — mandatory. Manual transmission preferred

Languages

Excellent English (written and verbal) required. Arabic or additional language an advantage

IT Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; comfortable using service management software and CRM platforms

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Technically confident with the ability to define and defend scope decisions to customers and management. Highly organised — able to manage multiple open jobs and site inspections simultaneously without losing attention to detail. Commercially minded — understands the link between accurate scoping, correct pricing, and company profitability. A natural leader who earns respect through knowledge and behaviour, not rank. Calm under pressure with the ability to resolve on-site issues independently. Customer-first mindset — treats every home as a professional responsibility. A self-starter who can operate with minimal supervision and takes ownership of outcomes. Ethical and honest — represents the company's values and code of conduct at all times.
