Job Objective :
As E/M Technicians, under the authority of his Senior Technical Officer MEP, performs a variety of corrective and preventive maintenance activities on electro-mechanical equipment installed in Airfield Lighting substations.
Job Description:

Inspects mechanical systems and their components (e.g. valves, compressors, pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, fans, piping etc…) for the purpose of evaluating condition, identifying necessary repairs and recommending preventive maintenance

Diagnoses cause of problems and/or failures in mechanical equipment and systems for the purpose of identifying equipment and/or systems repair and/or replacement needs

Performs routine and preventive maintenance as needed for the purpose of ensuring the ongoing functioning of mechanical equipment & systems.

Repairs mechanical systems and/or components (e.g. pumps, motors, air handlers, fan coils, piping, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring a comfortable work environment

Installs mechanical equipment and systems for the purpose of providing enhanced and/or upgraded capabilities

Follow maintenance and repairs procedures as per specified standards to ensure integrity and safety of mechanical systems and equipment

Responsible for implementing effective equipment maintenance / overhaul of specified equipment in accordance with company and vendor procedures to facilitate maximum reliability, availability and safety of the equipment (valves, compressors, pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, fans, piping etc.)

Prepares written materials (e.g. repair status, activity logs, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities and/or conveying information. Maintains work records, including complaint resolutions, maintenance and repair logs, vehicle inspection forms, daily work logs.

Requests equipment and supplies for the purpose of maintaining inventory and ensuring availability of items required to complete the necessary installation and/or repair

Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.

Participates in meetings, workshops, training, and seminars, as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions

Informs personnel regarding procedures and/or status of work orders for the purpose of providing information for making decisions, taking appropriate action and/or complying with building and safety regulations

Direct temporary contract labour to ensure safe and effective implementation of daily duties

Assists Sub-Contractor performing preventive maintenance of the Diesel Generators and any other Equipment.

Participates to the 24/24 7/7 stand-by service to support emergencies callouts. Responds to emergency situations during or after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns

This position requires to work in shifts (morning/afternoon/night) according to the schedule defined by the Supervisor

Performs general cleaning/maintenance tasks necessary to keep vehicles, equipment and tools in safe operating conditions, which may include inspecting equipment, checking fluid levels, replacing fluids, greasing equipment, replacing parts, washing/cleaning equipment, or cleaning shop/work areas; responsible for monitoring equipment operations to ensure and maintain efficiency and safety

Exercises the necessary care and caution in handling and/or operating vehicles, equipment and tools related to the performance of essential functions and follows airport specific safety policies/practices and adheres to responsibilities concerning safety, prevention, reporting and monitoring.
Experience
:
-
5 years’ experience in diesel engines and electro-mechanical maintenance
-
Experience in airport activities (airside) will be highly considered
-
Skilled in the use of standard and specialized tools used in this work.

Good English written and oral communications skills

Ability to communicate clearly, concisely and effectively with individuals in a face-to-face one-on-one setting; by phone or two-way radio and through written form

Ability to work a non-traditional, flexible schedule to include work during evening hours, on weekends and holidays

Ability to learn and apply emergency response procedures related to aircraft/facility incidents/accidents and the procedures for notifying regulating authorities

Ability to always stay alert and aware in order to prevent injury or accidents.

Ability to act in emergency situations or under pressure with minimal guidance or directions

Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, diagrams, technical specifications, operational manuals and regulatory publications

Ability to prepare detailed reports and submit recommendations for improved maintenance operations.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and airport operator.

Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, materials and tools used in the maintenance, installation, repair and modification of electrical systems

Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions associated with aircraft operations, high voltage airfield lighting systems
