Job Summary
The Mechanical Technician will support daily maintenance and repair activities on mechanical equipment and production machinery within the steel plant. This role is hands-on and requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, rollers, valves, and rotating equipment.
- Assist senior technicians and engineers during major repairs and shutdowns.
- Carry out lubrication, part replacement, alignment, and mechanical adjustments.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and report necessary corrective actions.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance logs.
- Follow work instructions, safety guidelines, and permit-to-work procedures.
- Support production teams by responding to urgent maintenance requirements.
- Ensure housekeeping and safe working conditions in maintenance areas.
Requirements
- ITI/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.
- Minimum 2–4 years of mechanical maintenance experience in steel plants or manufacturing.
- Strong practical knowledge of mechanical tools, machine parts, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and follow repair instructions.
- Physically fit and able to work in hot industrial environments.
- Willing to work shifts, overtime, and during breakdown emergencies.
