Responsible for performing maintenance on moulds, inspecting mould components, and repairing any damages to the mould in an efficient and safe manner, ensuring they are in sufficient working condition to produce required moulded products.
Functional Responsibilities
- Execution of regular, periodic, and preventive maintenance of moulds.
- Observe active machines to identify abnormalities after mould changes and take corrective action if required.
- Carry out cleaning and maintenance of change parts and mould accessories after production runs and ensure proper storage with identification.
- Check the mould moving parts, lubricate them, and maintain a daily record of the same.
- Troubleshoot issues with the moulds and any problems involved with mould changes.
- Verify the mould history cards and report any anomalies to the Engineer of Mould Maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with the Engineer of Mould Maintenance, production team members, and inspectors to ensure quality installation of moulds.
- Perform inventory tracking of molds and parts used; manage critical spares of all moulds and maintain their inventory.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during designing, prototyping, and release of new moulds/products.
- Observe safety precautions as a priority, especially during mould changes, and be vigilant to identify potential hazards and take necessary measures to avoid any calamities.
- Follow the company's HSE guidelines in respect of all operations undertaken.
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Quality, Food Safety, and Environment requirements as specified in the global QHSE Management System, with strict adherence to ISO and local regulatory authorities.
- Ensure all records and documents are up-to-date, have full traceability, and are retrievable at all times, and that all processes, procedures, and activities comply with ISO and management procedures.
- Perform any other job/task given by the Engineer of Mould Maintenance to accomplish department objectives.
Requirements
Education/Qualifications
- ITI/Diploma
- Special training preferably in Plastic production.
- Age factor - maximum 35 years.
Experience
- If Diploma Holder, minimum of 2-4 years of technical experience in manufacturing industry, preferably industrial product, plastic, and/or packaging.
- If ITI, minimum of 4-6 years of technical experience in manufacturing industry, preferably industrial product, plastic, and/or packaging.
- Experience in Mold Repair, assembly, and preventive maintenance of moulds.
Functional Skills & Specific Knowledge
- Knowledge of production processes.
- Knowledge and experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment preferred.
- Knowledge of related machines and their operation preferred.
