Job Title: Technician - QA/QC

Location: Qatar

Job Summary
We are hiring a Technician - QA/QC to perform QA/QC inspections, laboratory testing, and quantitative and qualitative analysis of raw materials, intermediate products, and finished cement products in a cement plant environment. The role supports daily operations by ensuring product quality, maintaining testing accuracy, reporting deviations, and following approved QHSSE and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing in sample preparation, XRF lab, chemical lab, physical lab, and related testing areas
• Conduct chemical and physical analysis of incoming raw materials, additives, raw meal, clinker, and finished cement products
• Monitor raw mix quality, material ratios, and product regularity to ensure QA/QC targets are achieved
• Carry out quality control checks during crushing, raw meal storage, milling, grinding, and finished product dispatch stages
• Perform hourly and periodic analysis of raw meal, clinker, hot meal, cement grinding samples, and oil well cement products
• Conduct strength testing and chemical property testing according to national, international, and customer standards
• Select and use the correct testing instruments and laboratory equipment for each test
• Compute, record, and communicate sample test data accurately using laboratory systems and controlled equipment
• Report abnormal readings and deviations immediately for corrective action
• Operate QA/QC systems and laboratory software such as QCX, Robo Lab, Blend Expert, and related quality control tools
• Operate and test various lab equipment including grinding mills, press machines, crushers, pulverizers, balances, ovens, furnaces, and sieves
• Prepare shift activity reports and maintain test and maintenance records for lab systems and equipment
• Maintain housekeeping and follow all laboratory safety, quality, and environmental procedures
• Perform any additional QA/QC laboratory duties assigned by the supervisor

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in cement factories in a similar QA/QC role
• Minimum Secondary School Certificate
• Relevant technical diploma is preferred
• Radiation protection license or license related to the function is preferred
• Basic English language ability
• Basic knowledge of X-ray fluorescence (XRF) techniques and x-ray photon excitation processes
• Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately with lab equipment and testing procedures
• Good teamwork, problem-solving, and reporting skills
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality standards

Preferred Skills

• Experience in cement quality control laboratories
• Familiarity with QCX, Robo Lab, Blend Expert, XRF systems, and cement testing standards
• Ability to handle sample preparation, testing, reporting, and quality deviation follow-up independently
