Purpose Statement
The job of Technology Support Specialist is done for the purpose/s of integrating technology to enhance the learning environment; assisting in installing and maintaining computer hardware and software; and assisting in resolving school site operational issues.
This job reports to the Director of Technology.
Essential Functions
- Assists with the installation of computer hardware, peripherals, networked devices, and application software to maintain and update overall site operations in classrooms and library media centers.
- Maintains and repairs computers, peripherals, and A/V to maintain equipment in a safe and functional operating condition.
- Maintains manual and electronic documents, files, and records (e.g. inventory database, preventive maintenance, inspections, repair logs, etc.) to document activities, convey information, and/or provide an up-to-date reference and audit trail.
- Responds to work orders, phone messages, and e-mails regarding technology-related issues to provide quick, quality service.
- Supports classroom activities for technology-related classes to provide information regarding procedures, processes and safety.
Other Functions
Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
