Day-to-Day Responsibilities/Workload:

Technical Purchasing

• Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts with suppliers
• Prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for technical equipment, custom engineered products, systems, software, or components
• Maintains understanding of technology trends, market forces, cost trends, and supplier technology roadmaps
• Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for policy compliance
• Discusses defects and delivery issues with suppliers and negotiates refunds

Product/Focus:

• Applies mastery in one job family or broader expertise across job functions
• May act as a project manager for short to mid-term projects
• Uses extensive technical expertise and knowledge of related disciplines
• Tackles atypical challenges requiring creativity and resourcefulness

Accountability:

• Helps define direction for new processes, standards, or operational plans
• Directly involved in project execution tasks
• Collaborates on project objectives, timelines, risks, milestones, deliverables, and budgets

Working Relationships:

• Determines methods and procedures for new assignments
• May coordinate activities of other team members
• Exercises considerable latitude in deliverables
• As a project manager, resolves issues and sets priorities

Decision Making / Impact:

• Advises and recommends actions with moderate corporate or major departmental impact
• May make independent decisions regarding Product and strategy
• Guides successful completion of major programs/projects
• Errors could result in failure to meet major objectives

Responsibilities:

• Reviews and negotiates company-wide commercial agreements
• Identifies and implements cost-saving procurement strategies
• Negotiates contracts using best practices
• Applies business tools (financial, logistical, commercial, risk, cost analysis)
• Executes purchasing opportunities via stakeholder collaboration and market research
• Ensures compliance with corporate procurement policies
• Develops category management aligned with procurement strategy
• Builds subject matter expertise in managed spend categories
• Implements continuous improvement and innovative procurement solutions
• Establishes strong relationships with internal and external partners
• Ensures protection of physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets

Required Skills/Attributes:

• 7+ years in supply chain, procurement, and/or contract management
• Experience in procurement and RFX for private telecommunications systems (design, engineering, installation, support)
• Preferred experience in wireless/cellular networks (internal systems vs. public services like Telecommunication/Telecommunication)
• Experience with private telecommunications networks (self-built vs. leased)
• If no Bachelor's degree, minimum of 10 years relevant work experience
