Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Telephony Engineer with hands-on experience in Alcatel telephony systems. The candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Alcatel telephony platforms, ensuring seamless communication infrastructure for the organization.Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Alcatel OmniPCX / OmniVista telephony systems and related infrastructure.
- Perform routine system monitoring, upgrades, and patch management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve telephony issues, ensuring minimum downtime.
- Manage call routing, extensions, voicemail, IVR, SIP trunks, and call center features.
- Work on integration of telephony with CRM, CTI, and other communication tools.
- Ensure system security, backup, and disaster recovery processes are followed.
- Provide L2/L3 support for escalated incidents and service requests.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and configuration records.
- Coordinate with vendors and OEM support for escalations and upgrades.
- Participate in telephony projects such as migrations, expansions, and new implementations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field.
- 4–5 years of hands-on experience with Alcatel telephony systems (OmniPCX Enterprise, OmniVista, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of VoIP, SIP protocols, PBX administration, and call routing.
- Experience with troubleshooting Alcatel PBX, call center applications, IVR, and voicemail systems.
- Familiarity with LAN/WAN networking, QoS, and VoIP security best practices.
- Knowledge of integration with third-party applications (CRM, CTI, UC solutions).
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work under pressure.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):
- Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise certifications (OXE, OmniVista, or UC).
- Experience with multi-vendor telephony systems (Avaya, Cisco, Genesys, etc.).
- Basic scripting knowledge for automation and reporting.
- Exposure to cloud-based telephony/UC solutions.
