Job Profile of a credit union team member:
- Serve as liaison between member and the credit union
- Responsible for providing account information by phone or in person
- Maintain accurate transactional records when processing member transactions when performing teller transactions.
- Ensure a high level of accuracy
- Contributions to credit union goals - uphold PCUs mission and core values
Essential Duties
- Greet and welcome members to the credit union in a courteous, professional, and timely manner, providing prompt, accurate, and efficient member transactions.
- Actively cross-sell products and services to members to achieve or exceed all established individual and branch sales goals.
- Receive checks and cash for deposits to accounts, verify amounts, examine checks for proper endorsement, and enter deposits into computer records.
- Cash checks and process withdrawals; pay out money after verification of signatures and member balances.
- Assist and process mail transactions, when available
- Maintain an up-to-date comprehensive knowledge on all credit union products and services that are handled or promoted by tellers. Maintain an up-to-date and comprehensive knowledge on all related policies and procedures, rules, regulations for the teller area, including robbery procedures.
- Receive loan payments, and ensure the payments match balances due. Enter payments into computer.
- Place holds on accounts for uncollected funds.
- Count, check, and verify coins and currency.
- Balance cash drawer at end of the shift and compare totaled amounts to computer-generated proof sheet. Research and resolve discrepancies. Report any discrepancies to the supervisor as necessary.
- Order checks for members
- Perform file maintenance and account changes as needed.
- Check night depository and record proper information according to credit union procedures.
- Adhere to PCU’s Monetary Standards and Standards of Performance.
- Inform supervisor in a timely manner of all teller related concerns.
