Ocean State Credit Union is seeking a Teller Supervisor to assist the Branch Manager in supervising and coordinating the teller area and ensuring professional member service and effective operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and schedule the daily activities of the teller staff
- Resolve member problems and complaints with courtesy and discretion
- Assist in training and development of teller staff
- Open and close branches and vaults and activate security devices
- Be responsible for all branch security routines and audits; ensure staff follows appropriate security procedures
- Ensure that transactions are processed in compliance with regulations and applicable laws
- Report large currency transactions and suspicious activity
- Order branch cash; verify cash shipments and prove vault cash
- Maintain logs, records, and inventories as required
- Assist tellers in recovering and documenting overages and shortages
- Use discretion to override check holds and exceptions to policy
- Maintain accurate currency balancing records
- Perform branch settlements
- Promote the credit union's products and services and maintain active participation in community affairs
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- At least two years of teller experience in a financial banking environment; supervisor experience required
- High school diploma plus specialized coursework and training
- Demonstrated supervisory ability
- Strong attention to detail; good communication, interpersonal, member service, and sales skills
- PC proficiency, including Microsoft Office and other banking software
WORK SCHEDULE:
Monday through Wednesday 7:45 a.m. – 4:45 p.m., Thursday and Friday 7:45 a.m. – 6:15 p.m., and Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. when required. Schedule may vary based on branch needs.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position requires standing for long periods and working primarily at a workstation in an open office environment. Daily tasks include speaking directly with members, extensive use of a computer performing standard keyboard functions, and phone usage. Some light lifting and carrying of large paper files may be required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
