Tempering Furnace Operator / Glass Tempering Line Operator
Job Summary:
The Tempering Furnace Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining the glass tempering line to produce high-quality tempered glass in accordance with safety standards, production targets, and quality requirements. The role involves furnace setup, glass handling, process control, inspection, and coordination with production and quality teams.
Key Responsibilities: Furnace Operation & Production
- Operate the glass tempering furnace and related equipment safely and efficiently
- Set and adjust furnace parameters (temperature, heating time, quenching air pressure) based on glass thickness and type
- Load and unload glass sheets carefully to prevent damage or defects
- Monitor the entire tempering cycle and ensure smooth continuous production
- Follow daily production schedules and meet output targets
Quality Control
- Inspect tempered glass for defects such as roller wave, distortion, breakage, scratches, or anisotropy
- Ensure glass meets customer specifications and quality standards
- Identify and report defects or process issues immediately
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
Safety & Handling
- Follow all safety procedures related to high-temperature equipment and glass handling
- Use proper PPE (gloves, safety glasses, protective shoes, etc.)
- Ensure safe movement, stacking, and storage of glass
- Report unsafe conditions or incidents promptly
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform basic preventive maintenance and daily checks on the tempering line
- Assist maintenance team in troubleshooting furnace or conveyor issues
- Keep furnace area clean and organized
- Report mechanical or electrical problems without delay
Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with supervisors, quality inspectors, and maintenance staff
- Follow work instructions, drawings, and job orders accurately
- Assist in training new operators when required
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience operating glass tempering furnace or similar industrial machinery
- Good understanding of glass tempering process and quality requirements
- Ability to read job cards, production plans, and basic technical instructions
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Physically fit and able to work in high-temperature environments
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical / Electrical / Industrial field
- 2–5 years experience in glass tempering or glass processing factory
- Experience with flat glass, architectural glass, or façade glass tempering lines
Working Conditions:
- Factory / production environment
- Exposure to heat, noise, and heavy glass handling
- Shift-based work (day/night shifts as required)

Pay: RO320.000 - RO400.000 per month
