The Temporary Board Certified Behavior Analyst will often serve in the role of trainer, liaison and co-supervisor in applied behavior analysis and other evidence-based approaches. Working in a non-traditional school setting, the Behavior Interventionist will support individuals with a variety of diagnoses and qualifying disabilities including Emotional Disturbance, Autism, OHI, Intellectual Disability and has knowledge of behavioral considerations for students with trauma history.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Under direction and supervision of BCBA, create and implement Behavior Intervention Plans and programming
  • Collect data in vivo for all targets; track target behavior and replacement behavior.
  • Knowledgeable of the functions of behavior; accurately collect ABC data
  • Monitor, mentor and collaborate with Instructional Assistants in assigned classrooms
  • Observe staff and coach on behavioral interventions in classroom and other school settings
  • Knowledge of ABA and DIR methodologies and familiarity with instructing others on evidence based behavior practices
  • Assist in creating a safe and positive learning environment with trauma informed care for students with severe emotional and/or behavioral issues
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary school team on a consistent basis to ensure continuity of care
  • Participates in regular treatment team meetings and IEP meetings as needed. Utilizes supervision, consultation, and training to provide high quality services to clients in an effective manner
  • Villa Esperanza Services may redeploy staff as needed to ensure operational needs are met for the safety of our organization, youth and staff. For the purpose of responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be required to modify work schedules, job duties/functions or assignments as needed with minimal to no notice. These assignments may include the direct care or the supervision, with appropriate protect ions, of a COVID-19 positive youth.
  • Assist students with toileting and change diapers/assist with bathroom time.
  • Perform other duties assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid California Driver's License and reliable transportation
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, with coursework in Child Development, Counseling or related topics within a Special Education environment
  • Working toward Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification and currently in a relevant Master's program or having completed a qualifying Master's Degree
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience with training others in ABA, autism and/or behavior related topics
  • Proficient in Behavioral Documentation and Data Collection

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Development Education, or related Special Education field
  • Experience working with Moderate to Severe Special Education students
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR) and Standard First Aid
  • Experience working with approved safe student restraint techniques

COMPENSATION: $45.00 - $55.00/hour

SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM (32hrs/week)

WORK LOCATION: On-site.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 28 – 30 per week
