Temporary Human Resources Generalist (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Position Details

This is a temporary full-time position expected to begin July 1, 2026, and continue through the employee's return from leave, anticipated to be approximately mid-October 2026.

Monday - Friday: 8 AM - 4:30 PM

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Human Resources Generalist to provide temporary coverage during a maternity leave. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing various HR functions, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and fostering a positive workplace culture. The ideal candidate should be reliable, highly organized, have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role will interact regularly with senior management as well as team members in various departments.

Duties

  • Oversee the recruitment process, including sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and managing the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Administer employee onboarding programs to ensure new hires are effectively integrated into the company.
  • Provide guidance on FMLA, workers' compensation, and other employee benefits administration.
  • Facilitate change management initiatives and support strategic planning efforts within the organization.
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and ensure accurate data entry for all employee records.
  • Address employee relations issues, fostering a positive work environment through conflict management strategies.
  • Collaborate with management on succession planning and organizational design efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with employment and labor laws, OSHA regulations, and affirmative action planning.
  • Conduct reference and background checks on job applicants.
  • Administer the Workers' Compensation program.
  • Process payroll and ensure accurate and timely payroll administration.

Experience

  • Experience in human resources, including talent management, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HRIS systems; experience with Paycor is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • HR department of one experience preferred.
  • Payroll processing experience preferred.

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
