Temporary Lead Registered Dental Assistant and/or Temporary Lead Dental Assistant

The Temporary Lead Registered Dental Assistant and/or Temporary Lead Dental Assistant oversees and monitors the workflow of the dental assistants, orders supplies, and maintains equipment integrity.

Work Schedule:
Monday - Thursday from 1:00pm - 9:30pm and Saturdays from 8:00am - 5:00pm.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and monitors the day-to-day work flow of the dental assistants.
  • Participates in the hiring, selection, and retention of back office staff.
  • Maintains adequate works schedules for the dental assistants.
  • Delegates daily workloads and tasks fairly among dental assistants.
  • Maintains smooth workflow between dentists, assistants, and patients.
  • Reports any incidents, clinic concerns, or changes to the Back or Front Office supervisors, Dental Clinic Manager, or Dental Director.
  • Lead Registered Dental Assistant and/or Lead Dental Assistant will also perform regular dental assisting job functions and duties as outlined in the RDA/DA job description.
  • Ensures compliance with OSHA, Dental Board, and WDS policies and procedures.
  • Oversees maintenance of dental supplies and inventory, stock supplies in operatories, restrooms, lab, etc. as needed.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of patient treatment records.
  • Leads, inspires, and motivates back office staff.
  • Participates in regular operational meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • X-ray license required.
  • Current Registered Dental Assistant and/or Dental Assistant registration in California.
  • Experience in EPIC Electronic Health Records.
  • Current BLS Certification required.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a fast paced Community Health Clinic environment.
  • Experience working in a multilingual/multicultural setting.
  • High attention to detail, organized, and has the ability to multi-task.
  • Bilingual skills (any language) a plus.
  • Ability to work evenings and Saturdays.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Fulfill immunization and fit for duty regulatory requirements.
  • May be required to occasionally lift at least 20 – 25lbs.
  • Prolonged standing, stooping and reaching.
  • Pinch grip.
