Temporary Summer SLP, OT & PT, Per Diem

Are you an SLP, OT or PT looking for some summer work? Look no further! We are looking for temporary summer substitute Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists and Physical Therapists to fill in for our therapists' vacations, make-up sessions for client vacations, etc. New to in-home early intervention? We will provide you with observation and training opportunities upfront, as well as ongoing solid support from your same-profession mentor and colleagues.

We are looking for great SLPs, OTs & PTs who are:

  • Looking for summer work (we also have longer-term opportunities available)
  • Fully licensed (however, we do have long-term home-based and school-based positions available for CF/RPE SLPs-- check out our other posts!)
  • Available for at least 30+ hours/week (you choose your available hours!)
  • Available for most weeks of the Summer (i.e., not taking more than 1 week off for vacation)
  • Flexible on locations; available to drive to different areas within San Diego County (mileage is reimbursed at the current IRS mileage rate, tax-free)
  • Open to having as few or as many hours as we have available to cover from week to week, which will vary widely.
  • Able to accept same-day appointments (i.e. with at least 2 hours' notice) when they arise within your available schedule. We will let you know your scheduled sessions as far in advance as possible, but sometimes same-day needs come up (i.e. when the therapist calls out sick).
  • Great with young kids! (Most of our clients are ages 1-2; we also see 0-18)

This is a GREAT opportunity for SLPs, OTs and PTs to make some additional summer income and also gain valuable in-home therapy experience. (And watch out, you just might fall in love with these adorable kiddos and the naturalistic setting of in-home therapy!) This is a pay-per-visit, per diem, temporary position. You would be filling in with substitute sessions as needed and potentially getting new client cases started for therapists who will begin in late summer/early fall.

You choose your available schedule (at least 30 hours/week min. availability, although we highly recommend offering 40 hours/week availability if you want to get as many hours as possible!). Sessions will be scheduled by our wonderful Scheduling Team within your available hours on a case-by-case basis as they come up.

By the way-- if you do end up falling in love with these kiddos, the in-home setting and with being part of Radiant Kids Therapy’s supportive, positive, dynamic team, there is also the opportunity to continue seeing your own long-term clients during the school year, at times that work with your schedule! We offer flexible hours, lower caseloads, minimal paperwork and incredibly rewarding work. These little clients make so much progress and you get to have a vital role in that!

Radiant Kids Therapy is a local, therapist-owned, therapist-managed company that provides a consistently great, high-quality experience for therapists and clients alike. Therapists who join the Radiant Kids Therapy team recognize the uniquely positive, supportive, kind work environment we cultivate right off the bat, and they stay for a long time because of it.

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Are comfortable with technology; able to learn digital platforms (e.g., an EMR, Google Drive, etc.)
  • Have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  • Have good physical stamina and mental health
  • Enjoy collaborating with families and colleagues, and also enjoy the autonomy an in-home early intervention position provides
  • Can communicate clearly and establish rapport with kids and families
  • Want to work with a supportive, speech therapist-owned and managed company
  • Want to feel the gratification of making a significant impact in the lives of clients and their grateful families!

This position includes the following benefits:

  • Mileage reimbursement (at the IRS rate, tax-free)
  • Flexible Schedule
  • Solid support
  • Provision of evaluations and test forms
  • Access to our vast online library with countless digital and printable resources
  • Direct deposits 2x/month
