The Job Details Role: Territory Sales Manager
Markets: Northeast USA (Based in Boston, Massachusetts)

You'll be the go-to contact for Independent Life in your market, educating trial attorneys on how structured settlements work, why they matter, and why our products are innovative and industry-leading.

What You'll Do:

  • Own your assigned territory and build a pipeline of plaintiff attorney relationships
  • Execute a disciplined outbound motion: cold calls, in-person visits, strategic follow-up, and long-term nurturing
  • Conduct discovery conversations to understand attorney needs around structured settlements, tax planning, and client outcomes
  • Educate attorneys on Independent Life's products, process, and value proposition
  • Qualify opportunities, manage deals through a 3-6+ month sales cycle, and close cases in partnership with internal resources
  • Maintain impeccable CRM hygiene and process adherence
  • Participate in ongoing coaching, training, and playbook refinement as we optimize and scale

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000
  • Bonus Opportunity: Up to $100,000 annually
  • Total OTE: $170,000–$180,000

What We'll Provide:

  • 2-week structured onboarding: Company culture, market dynamics, industry education, sales methodology, CRM training
  • 30-60-90 day ramp plan with clear milestones and coaching checkpoints
  • Ongoing training: Social Styles, advanced discovery, objection handling, relationship mapping
  • Sales enablement stack: Salesforce, Apollo.ai (or similar), curated lead lists, event access
  • Travel & expense budget for in-territory meetings and relationship building
  • Weekly coaching and KPI reviews to accelerate your learning curve

Location:

  • Boston, Massachusetts
  • This is a field-based role - expect to spend significant time in your territory meeting attorneys in person
  • Remote work for admin/prep, but face-to-face relationship building is core to success here

You Will Bring Background & Experience:

  • 3–7 years of professional sales experience, with at least 2 years in a quota-bearing or territory role
  • A track record in B2B sales where relationships matter more than velocity - think medical device sales, pharma, legal services, financial services, or field-promoted SDRs
  • Comfort navigating complex organizations, working with gatekeepers, and multiple stakeholders including decision makers and managing long sales cycles (3-6+ months)
  • Advanced Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project Management software
  • Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and sales enablement tools
  • Experience conducting cold outreach in person, as well as on the phone / Zoom
