Testing and Quality Assurance Engineer
Responsibilities
- Develop test plans, test cases, and comprehensive testing strategies for software applications.
- Prepare, configure, and maintain testing environments to ensure readiness for all test cycles.
- Execute manual and automated tests and accurately document all test results.
- Identify, log, and track defects discovered during testing phases.
- Collaborate closely with developers to ensure effective defect resolution and re-testing.
- Lead and perform comprehensive test coverage activities to maximize efficiency and quality.
- Validate applied fixes and conduct regression testing to ensure no new defects are introduced and that existing functionalities remain stable.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-4+ years of hands on experience in software testing and quality assurance.
- Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC and how QA fits into each phase.
- Solid experience in manual testing (functional, regression, smoke, sanity).
- Practical experience with test case design techniques (boundary value, equivalence partitioning, negative testing).
- Experience in test automation using tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
- Proficiency in writing and maintaining automated test scripts.
- Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (JIRA, TestRail, Zephyr, or equivalent).
- Ability to analyze requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
- Good understanding of API testing (Postman, REST concepts).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests into build processes.
- Basic knowledge of databases and SQL for data validation.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical problem solving skills.
- Ability to clearly document defects and communicate issues with development teams.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Self driven, organized, and able to manage multiple testing cycles under tight timelines.
