Position Summary

Hosts are responsible for greeting customers, maintaining seating area and capacity of The Landing at Long Wharf. They are also required to ensure that the establishment is, set up properly, and clean at all times.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Help open establishment- duties include but are not limited to set up patio furniture, clean menus, and assist bussers and bartenders in opening duties.
  • Help maintain the grounds including cleaning the patio, watering plants, maintaining overall appearance of establishment.
  • Greet guests and help answer questions about the menu and surrounding area inside and outside the establishment.
  • Seat guests and maintain waitlist.
  • Serving food and drink orders to guest at their tables, as needed.
  • Clearing tables or empty plates and glassware to ensure cleanliness and guest comfort.
  • Prepare basic food items on menu. Run prepared food from back of house to guest tables as needed.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of the establishment.
  • Help close out restaurant including cleaning, organization, and restocking.
  • Additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Basic knowledge of food allergens preferred.
  • Will work for extended periods of time without sitting.
  • Required to lift furniture and other heavy items.
  • Strong customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain a high level of organization, detailed oriented and meet deadlines.
  • Handle multiple tasks/projects at one time.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by job responsibility.
  • Listen effectively, assess the situation, determine relevant issues, & suggest solutions.
  • Have a working knowledge of computer skills, including but not limited to proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites.
  • Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to coworkers and guests.
  • Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.
  • Will be required to be available for work nights, weekends and on all major holidays.
