Theatre Scrub Nurse

• Assisting the surgeon: Scrub nurses work directly with surgeons in the sterile field, passing them instruments and sponges, and helping with procedures.
• Maintaining hygiene and sterility: Scrub nurses keep surgical instruments clean and ready for use.
• Monitoring patient vital signs: Scrub nurses monitor and record a patient's vital signs throughout surgery.
• Giving preoperative instructions: Scrub nurses provide nursing care to patients before, during, and after surgery.
• Ensuring instrument count: Scrub nurses ensure that all instruments and sponges are accounted for and notify the surgeon of the count.
• Putting away equipment: Scrub nurses put away instruments and equipment after surgery.
• Helping with dressing: Scrub nurses help with dressing the patient after surgery.
• Removing drapes: Scrub nurses remove drapes after surgery.
• De-gowning: Scrub nurses de-gown the patient and prepare them for the recovery room.
• Communicating: Scrub nurses communicate clearly with surgeons and explain procedures to patients.
