Resume and Cover Letter Required.The Therapist position provides therapy services to individuals with emotional, behavioral, and other mental health disorders assuring trauma informed therapeutic services which contribute to the well-being of citizens of Grant and Adams Counties. Services may be provided in an individual and/or group setting. New Hope/Kids Hope is seeking to provide a wide range of victim centered trauma informed advocacy services to survivors and victims of crimes (domestic violence, sexual assault, child physical and sexual abuse, general crimes, and elder abuse). A therapy service is also included in the broad menu of services offered at New Hope/Kids Hope. Trauma-informed individual and/or group treatment services is offered to individuals with emotional, behavioral and other mental disorders, to enhance independent choice, satisfaction and optimum participation in the community, family, and employment or education environments. This position is expected to work a minimum of 40 hour per week. The schedule for this position will be set by the Kids Hope CAC Coordinator and will be flexible to meet the needs of the community.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

Employee must comply with all County and department policies, procedures, WACs, or other regulatory bodies.Provides treatment services to identified caseload, addressing the individual’s life domains and incorporating them into a written treatment plan, and assuring treatment is commensurate with clinician’s education and licensure/registration.Completes and maintains appropriate records which meet Washington Administrative Code (WAC), Revised Codes of Washington (RCW), other regional contracts, and all other applicable Agency requirements.Monitors the individual’s risk to self, others, property, and grave disability and refer to appropriate service.Ensure the services being provided follow the National Children’s Alliance accreditation standards. Participates regularly in Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) Meetings and provides valuable input and information to the team.Assist the MDT in making informed, collective decisions during case reviews. Collaboration with community partners (Law Enforcement, Department of Children, Youth and Families DCYF, Prosecuting Attorney’s, Medical, Children Advocacy Center staff, Mental Health providers and Victim Advocates)Maintains strong working relationships with referring outside agencies, i.e., medical clinics, hospitals, convalescent centers, schools, and other county agencies, as appropriate, to ensure continuity of care for individuals served.Creates individual treatment plans reflecting measurable goals, timelines, and treatment outcomes, incorporating natural supports and maintains the individual’s maximum level of functioning.Makes referrals to appropriate resources when not provided by the Agency and are basic to the needs of the individual and coordinate services between other agencies.Provides therapeutic intake services assessments to individuals. Provides crisis intervention, therapy services, information and referrals, safety planning on a regular basis. Documents accurately in specialized Agency programs to effectively track and gather information within Agency timelines.Assures services are provided which support the individual’s rights and are compatible with the culture and primary language of the individual.Actively participates in training and other meetings, whether in or out of office, as requested. Provides therapeutic debriefing of difficult cases for advocates.

Physical AbilitiesPhysical abilities are primarily those required of an office or administrative position: the ability to walk, sit, write, hear, and speak; operation of office equipment, including, but not limited to phone, copy machine, fax machine, computer; typing on keyboard. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, peripheral, depth perception. Because of the variance of location, the employee may be exposed to varying temperature, odors or vapors, sub-sanitary environments (pets, second-hand smoke), and weather.
