Job Summary
Grant Gardens is seeking a compassionate, licensed, or license-eligible Therapist/Clinical Liaison to provide clinical leadership and therapeutic services for youth receiving residential behavioral health treatment. This position plays a vital role in supporting the emotional, behavioral, and social well-being of adolescents through individual, family, and group therapy, treatment planning, family engagement, and coordination of care.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, adolescents, and families in behavioral health, residential treatment, child welfare, or related settings. This role requires strong clinical judgment, communication skills, documentation abilities, and a commitment to trauma-informed, family-driven, and youth-guided care.
As a key member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, the Therapist/Clinical Liaison will coordinate treatment planning, provide therapeutic interventions, support discharge and permanency efforts, collaborate with families and community partners, and promote positive treatment outcomes that support long-term stability and success.
Responsibilities
- Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized, strength-based treatment plans.
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy services in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
- Coordinate and facilitate multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.
- Initiate and support discharge planning and transition services beginning at admission.
- Provide case management services and ensure treatment goals align with identified needs.
- Maintain regular communication and engagement with youth, families, guardians, referral sources, and community partners.
- Facilitate family involvement and provide education, support, and guidance to strengthen family functioning.
- Collaborate with courts, schools, child welfare agencies, and community organizations to support continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with licensing standards, accreditation requirements, HIPAA regulations, and agency policies.
- Assist with crisis intervention, de-escalation, and behavioral support strategies as needed.
- Provide consultation, education, and training to staff regarding mental health, family systems, and behavioral health treatment.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support a culture of clinical excellence.
- Attend required supervision, staff meetings, trainings, and professional development activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and operations of Grant Gardens.
Experience
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Human Services, or a related field required.
- Professional licensure or license eligibility preferred.
- Previous clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families in behavioral health, residential treatment, child welfare, foster care, or related settings preferred.
- Experience providing individual, family, and group therapy preferred.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care, adolescent development, family systems, crisis intervention, and behavioral health treatment.
- Strong assessment, treatment planning, documentation, and case management skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with youth, families, courts, referral sources, and multidisciplinary treatment teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with team members.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and electronic health record systems.
Requirements
- Valid West Virginia Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, AED, and TCI certification.
- Ability to participate in crisis intervention and maintain resident safety in accordance with agency policies.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical requirements associated with a residential treatment environment.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards in accordance with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Ability to successfully pass all required background screenings and clearances.
