We have a wonderful opportunity at our Karri & Tuart Lodge facility in Merriwa for an out of the box and forward thinking Therapy Assistant! Vital to the continuous improvement of our services, you will assess residents' needs and preferences to develop appropriate one on one or group programs, assist in the development and delivery of group and individual therapies and note changes in residents' well being and advise staff of these.

The Role And You
  • Assist in the implementation of therapy programs including group and individual activities.
  • Assist in assessing residents' needs and preferences and help develop appropriate programs in relation to the individual.
  • Supervise volunteers who are assisting with the program.
  • Complete documentation and reporting in relation to the role.
  • Communicate with Allied Health and Clinical teams on the outcome of programs for the residents.
About You
  • Previous, demonstrated experience working in Residential Aged Care.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proactive with a positive 'get up and go!' attitude.
  • Flexible with start and finish times.
  • Well developed communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate to the elderly with empathy and understand their needs.
  • Demonstrate flexible decision making and advanced problem solving skills.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to effectively plan and prioritise work tasks.
  • Enjoy building positive relationships with residents, their families and staff.
What You Need To Do
  • Have Certificate III in Allied Health or similar qualification.
  • Update your resume.
  • Be eligible to work in Australia.
  • Satisfactory National Police Certificate (on commencement of employment to be within six months from date of issue) or willing to obtain one.
  • Be up to date with your Flu vaccinations.
