Thermal Engineering International (USA) Inc. designs and fabricates critical heat exchange equipment for power generation and process industries worldwide.

The Thermal Design Engineer will be responsible for performing detailed thermal design and rating calculations of shell-and-tube heat exchangers in accordance with TEMA standards and applicable codes such as ASME Section VIII. The role includes process evaluation, mechanical coordination, client interaction, and optimization of Heat Exchanger performance for cost-effective and reliable operation. Additionally, design experience and working knowledge in Waste Heat Boilers, Process Gas Boilers, Kettle Boilers, Solar CSP Heat Exchangers, Thermal Fluid Heaters and material selection capability will be considered an added advantage.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform thermal design and rating of shell-and-tube heat exchangers
• Develop optimized designs considering, heat duty, pressure drop, Fouling factor, phase change etc.
• Select appropriate type of Exchangers, perform HTRI or equivalent software calculations and validate the thermal performance against client’s data sheet /RFQ’s
• Review Customer Specifications for Scope, thermal-hydraulic performance requirements and guarantees, process considerations, scope of supply, conflicts of any requirements with applicable codes & regulations and provide the technical strategy to offer the most cost-effective design
• Prepare the thermal and hydraulic design of the product which meets specification requirements and internal engineering design standards of the company.
• Prepare Technical Risk Assignment form considering the design values and Client guarantee requirement
• Prepare complete technical proposals and write for assigned proposals.
• Act as proposal / project engineer for the assigned proposal. Prepare exceptions and clarifications to the customer’s specifications. Also, collect and assemble the complete Exceptions and Clarifications list from the other applicable departments.
• Review Engineering drawings (General Arrangement drawings and P&IDs).
• Technical evaluations of vendor quotes.
• Ensures that the content and objective of the Health, Safety, Security and the Environment Policy and Quality Policy and the Information Security Management System are implemented and understood by all supervised staff.
• Ensures adherence to Quality systems for Business Winning and Contract Execution.

Job Requirements / Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Graduate in Chemical /Mechanical Engineering
• 10+ years of industry and heat exchanger design relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to schedule, manage, prioritize, and execute assignments.
• Technical Expertise on current and emerging Technologies in the field of thermal design
• Experience in Thermal design software like HTRI
• Familiar with ASME, ASTM, API and TEMA
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Cross- Functional capability
