Position Summary
Micro Metals, Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced
TIG Welder
to join our production team. This senior-level welding role is responsible for fabricating and assembling metal components to customer and engineering specifications while supporting quality, safety, and production timelines.
This position also plays a key role in mentoring junior welders and supporting workflow within the welding department.
Requirements
What You’ll Do

Perform precision TIG welding on steel and aluminum components

Execute MIG, arc, and gas welding as required

Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and weld symbols

Determine proper weld methods and materials based on specifications
-
Inspect welds to ensure structural integrity and quality standards

Grind, clean, and prepare materials for downstream production
-
Set up, maintain, and troubleshoot welding equipment
-
Train and support Welder I and Welder II team members
-
Follow production schedules to meet throughput and delivery timelines

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
What We’re Looking For
-
Minimum of 5 years of welding experience

Proficiency in TIG welding required
-
Experience with MIG welding; arc and gas welding preferred
-
Ability to pass a welding proficiency test

Strong blueprint reading and weld symbol interpretation skills
-
Experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred

High attention to detail and workmanship quality

Strong problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills
-
Team-oriented with leadership and mentoring capabilities
-
High school diploma or GED required; technical certification preferred
Work Environment

Manufacturing and shop setting
-
Exposure to heat, sparks, welding arcs, fumes, and noise

Operation of machinery and welding equipment

Proper PPE and ventilation systems are provided and required

Maintain regular and reliable attendance to support production requirements
Physical Requirements

Stand for extended periods of time

Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of materials

Ability to wear required welding PPE and protective gear
