Position Summary
The TIG/MIG Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding on stainless steel and carbon steel components using both TIG and MIG processes. This role supports fabrication of precision parts and assemblies in accordance with customer prints, weld specifications, and internal quality standards, with a strong emphasis on appearance, structural integrity, and consistency.
Key Responsibilities
Welding & Fabrication
- Perform both TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel and carbon steel components.
- Set up and adjust welding machines, gas flow, filler materials, and parameters for each process.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, and customer specifications.
- Fit, tack, and weld assemblies with proper joint prep, alignment, and distortion control.
- Execute clean, precise TIG welds (including cosmetic and food-grade when required).
- Produce welds that meet both structural and aesthetic standards.
Quality & Inspection
- Visually inspect welds for defects (porosity, undercut, lack of fusion, cracking, etc.).
- Verify dimensions and tolerances using standard measuring tools.
- Work with CWI as needed for inspections and quality validation.
- Maintain consistent weld quality across varying part types and batch sizes.
Safety & Work Environment
- Follow all safety procedures, including PPE and safe equipment operation.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement efforts.
General Shop Responsibilities
- Assist with material prep, grinding, polishing, and finishing.
- Support team production goals and meet scheduled deadlines.
- Communicate issues, rework needs, or delays proactively.
- Assist in training or supporting less experienced welders when needed.

Qualifications
- 3–5+ years welding experience required (TIG and MIG)
- Strong experience with stainless steel fabrication
- Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols
- Solid understanding of heat control, distortion, and finishing techniques
- Experience with grinders, fixtures, and fabrication tools
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a shop environment
- Must pass TIG and MIG weld tests
Preferred Skills
- Food-grade or sanitary welding experience
- Purge welding (back purging stainless)
- Polishing and finishing for appearance-critical parts
- Forklift experience
Work Schedule & Pay
- First Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday–Friday
- Overtime: Occasional, based on workload
- Pay Range: $26.00 – $32.00 per hour, depending on experience and demonstrated skill level
