A Tipper Driver is responsible for operating tipper trucks to transport and unload materials such as sand, gravel, soil, construction debris, and other bulk materials. The driver ensures safe vehicle operation, timely deliveries, and compliance with traffic and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate tipper trucks safely and efficiently to transport materials to and from construction sites, quarries, and other locations.
- Load, transport, and unload materials using the vehicle’s tipping mechanism.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections, including checking tires, brakes, lights, oil, and hydraulic systems.
- Ensure the truck is properly maintained and report any mechanical faults or repairs required.
- Follow assigned routes, delivery schedules, and instructions from supervisors.
- Secure loads and ensure compliance with weight limits and road safety regulations.
- Complete delivery notes, logbooks, and other required documentation.
- Follow company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and work area.
- Assist with basic maintenance and minor repairs when required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Valid heavy vehicle driving license.
- Proven experience driving tipper trucks (construction or mining experience preferred).
- Good knowledge of road safety rules and vehicle operation.
- Ability to operate hydraulic tipping systems.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work in different weather and site conditions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical fitness and attention to safety.
