Title I Paraprofessional

Marshall Public Schools serves over 2,500 PK-13 students across eight (8) school buildings throughout the Marshall and Albion communities. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education Requirements:

• Associates Degree; OR
• 60+ credit hours from a degree granting college/university; OR
• High school diploma WITH successful passage of the ETS Parapro Assessment*(min 460 score)

• Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), preferred but not required
• Parental experience desired but not required
• Ability to work well with children and adults
• Maintain an interest in helping children in their educational process
• Calm and patient demeanor

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide daily individual and/or small group pupil instruction/tutoring
• Provide academic support to the classroom teacher(s)
• Provide supervisory/classroom management support to the classroom teacher(s), where applicable
• Assist in escorting children to and from various rooms, when necessary
• Assess students, as directed by the teacher and/or administrator
• Monitor and track student data, where applicable
• Provide instructional support in the library
• Demonstrate initiative and creativity with student(s)
• Demonstrate an understanding of the district's mission, vision and strategic priorities and actively works to advance them through daily practice and professional conduct
• Contribute to the culture and climate of the district by modeling its core values, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment and serving as a committed representative of the district's identity and purpose in all interactions with students, families, staff and the broader community
• Adhere to district health and safety procedures
• Perform other related duties that may be assigned by the building principal
