Mission Statement:

Bellevue Montessori School develops an academically, socially, emotionally, and culturally educated community of students within the framework of acceptance, compassion, and understanding, all in accordance with the traditional Montessori curriculum and philosophy. We support each student in building a foundation for life-long learning in preparation for future educational endeavors.

Our school has been continuously growing since its opening in 1966. We are looking for a Co-Lead Teacher to provide classroom support and who guide children in our Toddler Programs. Support would be demonstrated by preparing organized classrooms with beautiful materials in a peaceful environment to encourage children to explore and discover the joy of learning.

Role: Co-Lead

Rate: Starting at $45,500 (with minimal experience and In-training via AMS, AMI, MEIPN or MACTE) annually

OR

Rate: Starting at $52,000 (with completed Montessori Infant/Toddler training credentials via AMS, AMI, MEIPN or MACTE and some lead classroom experience) annually

Program: Toddler Program

Reports To: Krithika Rangan, Toddler Program Director

Daily Hours: 8 to 4:30 PM

Requirements & Responsibilities:

Passion for Working with Children

  • Must genuinely enjoy engaging with toddlers and have patience, empathy, and a nurturing presence.
  • Should demonstrate an understanding of toddler development (even if informally). ✅ Montessori Knowledge or Interest
  • Prior Montessori experience is not mandatory, but curiosity and willingness to learn the philosophy are crucial.
  • Working towards an accredited MACTE, AMI, or AMS Montessori certification is preferred.

Prepared Environment & Classroom Support

  • Assist in maintaining a Montessori-prepared environment (clean, organized, and designed for independent learning).
  • Help prepare Montessori materials and lessons under the guidance of the lead teacher.
  • Ensure all classroom materials meet Montessori standards (natural, child-sized,

developmentally appropriate).

DCYF Licensing & Health Standards Compliance

  • Maintain classroom cleanliness according to DCYF guidelines for early childhood settings, including:

Daily sanitization of high-touch surfaces and Montessori materials. Proper food handling & storage, as and when applicable.

Safe diapering/toileting practices following licensing requirements. Maintaining a safe, hazard-free environment that meets licensing regulations. Support compliance with child safety, fire drill procedures, and health protocols.

Observational & Record-Keeping Skills

  • Expected to observe students and track their progress, possibly using tools like Transparent Classroom.
  • Assist with documentation of lessons given and student mastery.

Team Collaboration & Professional Growth

  • Must be a team player and work well with Head Teachers, Learning Specialists, and Directors.
  • Open to feedback, training, and professional development opportunities. ✅ Communication & Parent Engagement
  • Expected to help with classroom newsletters, parent education events, and progress reports.
  • Should have strong attendance, punctuality, and flexibility.
