Toddler Teacher

We are seeking a teacher for our young preschool program. This teacher will primarily work in mixed age classrooms serving children 2-3.5 and assist with older students 3-5 in the afternoons. Position is approx 35-40 hours a week daily M-F.

The teacher is responsible for assisting with planning and leading group time, small group lessons, and other meaningful learning activities. Documentation and assessment of children's development, through online tools, photographs and parent conferences is required. Regular rotation of new materials in the class is expected.

Other responsibilities include engaging children in meaningful conversation, facilitating social relationships, supervising children carefully, conducting transitions to wash hands, dress for outdoor time, preparing and cleaning up after snacks and meals, and overseeing rest times, assisting with toileting, diapering and potty training. Putting away and cleaning up materials.

Candidates must be creative, self-motivated, mature, patient, capable of leading and working independently, have a passion for the arts and skilled in observation and reflection. Must have experience with young children in a group setting.

Teacher Requirements:·

CDA, AA or BA in Child Development (or related field) preferred

Minimum 12 Core Units in ECE required

More than 3 years lead teaching experience in a high quality program specifically with 2-3 year olds.

Experience with documentation of children's learning, emergent curriculum,

Reggio Emilia inspired or project approaches highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.50 - $23.50 per hour
