Toddler Teacher to Nanny

Job Type: Full-Time, Live-Out

Location: West University, 77005

Compensation: $25 - $40/hour, based on education and experience

Start Date: Early to Mid-June 2026

Commitment: Minimum 1 year. Ideally, 4+ years

Schedule: 40 hours/week

  • 3 days per week: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM
  • 2 days per week: 7:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Children: The preschooler attends preschool 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM.

  • 11-Month-Old Girl: A cheerful baby who enjoys outdoor time, bright colors, sensory play, and interactive care.
  • 3.5-Year-Old Girl: A playful preschooler who loves pretend play, princess themes, and knowing what to expect throughout the day.

About the Role:

This West University family is seeking a calm, organized caregiver with an educator’s mindset to support an infant and preschooler through play, routine, and developmentally thoughtful activities.

This position is a strong fit for a teacher who wants to move beyond the classroom and work more personally with young children. You will have the opportunity to prepare activities, follow the children’s interests, support early learning, and create steady growth through consistent follow-through.

The home includes involved grandparents and a full-time housekeeper, so the right candidate should be flexible, collaborative, and comfortable working within a family village.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan age-appropriate play and learning activities
  • Support infant development through sensory, motor, verbal, and social play
  • Support preschool growth through conversation, creativity, early literacy, and fine motor work
  • Prepare simple materials and activities ahead of time
  • Keep children’s spaces tidy and reset

Ideal Candidate:

A thoughtful toddler, preschool, infant, or Montessori teacher who enjoys working closely with young children. You are warm, observant, organized, and able to bring structure without making the day feel rigid.

You enjoy noticing what children are interested in and turning those interests into meaningful learning moments. You are comfortable adapting as plans shift and communicating clearly with parents and family members.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of full-time professional childcare experience with infants and preschoolers
  • Comfortable planning activities and preparing materials
  • Easygoing and adaptable in a multi-adult household
  • Strong judgment and clear communication

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour
