We are building a NEW Toddler Team at our center and are looking for an experienced Teacher, Associate Teacher, and Assistant Teacher to create a strong, exciting, developmentally appropriate program for our unique little ones, including those affected by trauma.
The Open Door Network is recruiting experienced childcare providers who are passionate about making a positive impact in our community, including those affected by trauma. We need resilient, creative, hardworking individuals who are motivated to change the life of a child. We are the only childcare center in California operating at a homeless shelter, and we need special teachers to meet the needs of our amazing children.
Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor and Program Manager, the Toddler Team will be responsible for the care, supervision, and instruction of toddlers (2-3 years), supporting their overall development in line with program policies and curriculum. Key duties include maintaining clear documentation, conducting assessments, facilitating transitions to preschool, ensuring a safe and developmentally appropriate environment.
Requirements / Qualifications
Education: Valid Child Development Permit from the CA Commission on Teacher Credentialing at least 12 units in ECE/CD, including core classes and three (3) infant units.
Experience: Twelve (12) months’ experience working in a state or federally funded childcare program with preschool children. Experience with Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) and Desired Results Developmental Profile (DRDP).
Required Documents: Valid Child Development Permit with at least 12 units in ECE/CD, including core classes.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: A pre-placement medical assessment/health and drug screening is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. This position is required to lift 50 pounds. LiveScan Fingerprint clearance is a condition of appointment after all other required job conditions have been met. Must present verification of completion of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter training or obtain verification within four (4) weeks of hire.
