Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker to join our manufacturing team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing precision tools, dies, and molds used in the production process. Your expertise will ensure that manufacturing operations run smoothly, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Building and maintenance of stamping dies, modular tool changeovers and basic Press Room support.*
- Building, repairing and maintenance of progressive and "one out" dies.*
- Periodic reviews of perishable tooling for reorder and on hand quantity purposes.*
- Producing details for dies.*
- The preparations of details for die layouts and knifing*
- Adheres to safety standards within corporate guidelines for the production process.*
- Notifies management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions and/or personal injuries.*
- Adheres to standards and guidelines for waste reduction.*
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to health and/or safety procedures.*
- Wears personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.*
- Maintains work areas and machines in a clean, orderly and safe manner to include returning tools to designated areas.*
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in CAD software is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and operation for CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, and EDM equipment.
- Skilled in welding techniques including MIG/TIG welding for tool fabrication and repair.
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and schematics with GD&T standards accurately.
- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other gauges.
- Excellent math skills for calculations related to tool design and fabrication tolerances.
- Familiarity with hand tools, fabrication techniques, assembly procedures, and safety protocols in a machine shop setting. Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
