Tool Maker- 2nd Shift

Job Summary
The Tool Maker’s role is to support the Molding Department by performing tool repairs and maintenance, as well as fabricating new components for tools and machines. This position focuses on maintaining a customer-oriented approach and delivering value through quality craftsmanship and reliability.

Duties

  • Ensure full compliance with all safety requirements, including Safety Awareness, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), crane operations, and 6S standards.
  • Possess working knowledge of data entry and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Maintenance Connection.
  • Operate machine tools to fabricate and repair components as needed.
  • Perform various welding applications for injection mold repairs.
  • Disassembly injection molds to replace high-wear components when necessary.
  • Safely rig injection molds for transport using cranes, forklifts, and die carts.
  • Read and interpret mechanical and electrical blueprints, from basic to advanced.
  • Adhere to all environmental policies, procedures, work instructions, and applicable requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Immediately report any environmental concerns or incidents that pose a hazard to people, productions, or the environment to management.
  • Starts up and shuts down robots and cranes in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

Skills

  • Qualifications for this role include:
  • High school diploma or GED (preferred).

  • Manufacturing and maintenance experience (preferred).
  • Experience with computers and Microsoft Office (preferred).
  • Excellent language skills: ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents; write reports, correspondence, and manuals; and effectively present information to various groups.
  • Basic mathematical skills: ability to perform simple calculations.
  • Strong reasoning ability: ability to understand and follow instructions and solve routine problems using common sense.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands of this position require the ability to:

  • Frequently: Stand and walk; use hands for fine motor skills (finger dexterity, handling, feeling); reach with arms and hands; talk and hear.
  • Occasionally: Climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; sit.
  • Vision: Possess close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Lifting: Consistently lift and carry up to 10-50 pounds daily.

Working conditions in some areas require that personal protective equipment be worn including but not limited to steel toed shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, ring and watch covers, belt buckle covers, and gloves. All employees of RESRG are expected to comply with the safety policies.

The employee will be exposed to toxic and corrosive chemicals. The employee may encounter exposure to fumes or airborne particles. The employee may also encounter wet and/or humid conditions, vibration, working in high, precarious places, proximity to moving mechanical parts, exposure to electrical shock and radiation.

Noise levels are moderate.

The employee will need to wear shoes, shirts, and all protective equipment relevant to working with hazardous chemicals.
