Position Summary:
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of the machine shop toolroom. Responsibilities include procurement process, negotiation with suppliers, submitting purchase request, and follow up interfacing with internal and vendors. Maintain stocking levels of machine shop consumables and tooling. Setup tools and maintain tooling program that supports the needs of the machine shop. Maintain standard and inventory of tooling in the toolroom. Troubleshoot and solve minor to semi-complex problems and issues. Work with setup techs, and new vendors to implement cost saving projects regarding tooling projects in the machine shop.
Position Responsibilities:

Setup and prepare tooling for production.

Full knowledge of how to read blueprints, customer drawings and all technical information.

Load/unload fixtures and specific programs for tooling set up.

Maintains high accuracy on all functions.

Works on moderate scope of tooling set-up complexity.

Has the ability to identify potential issues and resolve efficiently.

Escalates issues to supervisor only when out of their knowledge base to resolve.

Provides guidance or direction, training, and technical assistance to junior level support.

Contributes to employee’s development.

Compile and maintain information and records to prepare Purchase Requisitions

Process overstock and defective part returns

Place purchase requisitions, expedite, and provide customer service.

Contact and maintain working relationship with vendors and suppliers for quote and rate/price negotiations.

Expedite requisitions.

Research specifications of products not clearly identified.

Enter and edit purchase requisitions.

Ensure product file integrity.

Maintain good customer and supplier relations.

Reconcile receiving problems and troubleshoot.

Position Qualifications:
Education:

High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:

2+ years of experience with tooling in a production or machine shop environment required.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly

Requires walking, standing, bending, and lifting for long periods of time.

Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer.
