As we continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented Tool Room Clerk to join our team and support our fabrication operations.

As a Tool Room Clerk in our fabrication shop, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies. You will play a critical role in ensuring that our fabrication team has access to the tools and resources they need to complete projects efficiently and effectively. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments of tools, equipment, and supplies.
Organize and maintain the tool room inventory, including tracking stock levels, conducting regular audits, and replenishing supplies as needed.
Issue tools and equipment to fabrication team members as requested, ensuring accurate documentation of transactions.
Monitor the condition of tools and equipment, performing routine maintenance and arranging for repairs or replacements as necessary.
Coordinate with purchasing and procurement teams to order new tools and supplies as needed, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Maintain records of tool usage, repairs, and maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Assist in the implementation of safety protocols and procedures within the tool room, including proper storage, handling, and disposal of hazardous materials.
Provide support to fabrication team members by locating and retrieving tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
Collaborate with supervisors and managers to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the tool room operations.
Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in inventory management or related field is a plus.
Previous experience in a tool room or inventory management role, preferably in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate records and track inventory levels.
Proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and inventory management software.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects and operate material handling equipment safely.
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures related to the handling and storage of tools and equipment.
