Do You Love Classic Cars AND Making Cool Stuff?
Here's a job where you design it, machine it, and then walk over to a heated garage full of vintage muscle cars to test-fit your creation. No, seriously.
At Metro Moulded Parts, we've been the go-to name in rubber weatherstripping and seals for classic car restorations since 1918. We make door seals, trunk seals, window gaskets, and all those detail rubber parts that keep a '69 Camaro from leaking and a '57 Chevy looking showroom-fresh. Our parts ship to classic car restorers around the world, and we make all our own tooling in-house.
This is not your average manufacturing gig. You'll work hands-on with aluminum tooling, modern CAD/CAM software, and brand-new Haas CNC machines. Then you get to validate your work on actual classic cars. If you've ever wanted a job where you can say, \"Yeah, I test-fit parts on a vintage Mustang today,\" this is it.
What You'll Actually Do
- Reverse engineer parts using scan data (bring back what's been discontinued!)
- Design aluminum compression molds and injection molds (single and multi-cavity)
- Rapid prototype with our dedicated 3D printing room so you can check fit before you cut aluminum
- Program toolpaths (Fusion 360 or similar) and create clear setup documentation
- Run CNC jobs as needed: prove-out programs, verify tooling, and dial things in
- Test-fit parts on classic cars in our nearby heated garage (yes, even in Minnesota winters)
- Improve and repair existing tooling for continuous production
- Keep things organized with files, revision notes, and documentation so the whole team wins
