Tort Defense Attorney - Premises Defense

This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated litigator to handle sophisticated cases while working closely with seasoned attorneys.

This position offers:

Key Responsibilities

• Defend premises liability and related insurance defense matters in New York state and federal courts.
• Draft persuasive legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and memoranda.
• Manage all phases of discovery, including conducting and defending depositions.
• Represent clients in court for conferences, hearings, and trials.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop and implement effective case strategies.
• Proactively communicate with clients, adversaries, and the court.

Qualifications

• Admission to the New York Bar (required).
• Minimum of 3 years of tort defense experience, with a focus on premises liability.
• Strong deposition, motion practice, and courtroom advocacy skills.
• Proven ability to manage cases independently from inception to trial preparation.
• Exceptional legal writing, research, and communication abilities.
• Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $140,000.00 - $175,000.00 per year
