Tow Truck Driver

Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Tow Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting vehicles, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring all towing operations are conducted efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to operate various tow truck types, including flatbeds. The Tow Truck Driver plays a vital role in assisting customers with vehicle recoveries and roadside assistance, maintaining safety standards at all times.

Responsibilities

• Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized vehicles, to recover and transport vehicles safely.
• Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or winches.
• Conduct basic automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine the best towing approach.
• Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly and professionally with clients during roadside assistance or recovery situations.
• Maintain accurate documentation of all towing activities, including vehicle details and routes taken.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance on tow trucks to ensure optimal operation.
• Follow all safety protocols and traffic laws during vehicle recovery operations.
• Assist with other tasks such as conflict management when dealing with distressed customers or difficult situations.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record;
• Experience operating tow trucks, especially flatbeds, is highly desirable.
• Mechanical knowledge and automotive repair experience are advantageous.
• Familiarity with automotive diagnostics, manual transmissions, and automotive systems.
• Ability to load & unload vehicles safely using appropriate equipment like forklifts or winches.
• Strong driving skills with experience in commercial driving environments.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflicts professionally when necessary.
• Physical ability to load/unload vehicles and perform manual tasks associated with towing operations.
• Prior experience with conflict management or handling stressful situations is a plus.
