Tower Crane Engineer

Job Summary

The Tower Crane Engineer is responsible for the planning, technical evaluation, installation supervision, operation support, and maintenance oversight of tower cranes on construction projects. The role ensures all crane activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with engineering standards and UAE regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and review tower crane locations, layouts, and load capacities based on project requirements
• Prepare and approve lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments
• Supervise erection, climbing, and dismantling of tower cranes
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and local authority regulations (e.g., Dubai Municipality, Trakhees)
• Conduct technical inspections, load testing, and commissioning of cranes
• Monitor crane performance, maintenance schedules, and breakdowns
• Coordinate with site teams, lifting supervisors, operators, and subcontractors
• Investigate incidents or near-misses and recommend corrective actions
• Maintain all documentation related to crane operations and certifications

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in tower crane operations and engineering (high-rise projects preferred)
• Strong knowledge of lifting operations, crane load charts, and structural behavior
• Familiarity with major crane brands (Liebherr, Potain, etc.)
• Knowledge of UAE safety regulations and international lifting standards
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals

Preferred

• UAE/GCC project experience (high-rise towers)
• Certification in Lifting Engineering / Appointed Person (Lifting Operations)
• Experience with authority approvals and inspections in UAE
