Toxicology Laboratory Assistant

We are looking to fill a position of laboratory assistant.

This position requires a knowledge of basic computer skills.

Responsibilities will include:

· Sorting samples on a daily basis

· Entering demographic information into the laboratory system

· Prioritizing work to meet deadlines with direction from supervisor

· Working independently as well as with others

· Running and maintaining analyzer

· Participating in the instruction and training of others

The position also assists with other laboratory duties and responsibilities as needed

Experience and Requirements:

· Knowledge of sample accessioning, bar-coding, and tracking practices

· Basic computer data entry skills

· Signing for and receiving shipments, supplies, samples, etc., as needed

Experience:

· Laboratory experience preferred

· Basic computer knowledge

Education:

· High school diploma preferred

Physical Demands/Work Environment Requirements

Vision, hearing, speech, movements requiring the use of wrists, hands and/or fingers. Must have the ability to view a computer screen for long periods of time and the ability to sit for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to work varied hours and days required to complete the essential functions of the position, as scheduled.

Mental Demands

Learning, thinking, concentration and the ability to work under pressure, particularly during busy times. Must be able to pay close attention to detail and be able to work as a member of a team to ensure excellent service quality. Must have the ability to interact effectively with co-workers.
