Track & Facilities Maintenance Technician

Utah Motorsports Campus

Position Summary

Utah Motorsports Campus is seeking a motivated and dependable Track & Facilities Maintenance Technician to help maintain one of the premier motorsports facilities in the United States.

This position is responsible for maintaining race tracks, buildings, grounds, equipment, and infrastructure to ensure a safe, professional, and first-class experience for racers, guests, tenants, and event organizers.

This is not a position for someone looking to simply “get through the day.” We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, pay attention to details, and understand that doing a job correctly the first time is more important than doing it quickly.

- Repair and maintain racing surfaces, curbing, barriers, and safety systems.

- Perform crack sealing, asphalt repairs, and general track upkeep.

- Maintain gravel traps, runoff areas, fencing, and trackside infrastructure.

- Assist with event setup, breakdown, and race-day support.

- Inspect facilities for safety concerns and report deficiencies.

Facility Maintenance

-Perform preventative maintenance on buildings and infrastructure.

- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems.

- Maintain lighting systems, doors, locks, access control systems, and security equipment.

- Perform basic repairs and coordinate larger repairs when necessary.

- Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.

What We Are Looking For

Attention to Detail

The most important qualification for this position is a commitment to doing things correctly.

We are looking for someone who:

Takes ownership of their work.

Notices problems before they become failures.

Understands that quality matters.

Is willing to slow down and verify the job is done correctly.

Leaves equipment, facilities, and work areas better than they found them.

A repair done twice costs more than a repair done right the first time.

Preferred Skills

Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

General maintenance

Construction

Electrical systems

Plumbing systems

HVAC systems

Heavy equipment operation

Welding and fabrication

Irrigation systems

Asphalt repair

Motorsports facilities

Grounds maintenance

Candidates do not need experience in all areas but must be willing to learn.

Work Environment

This position requires:

Working outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Standing, walking, lifting, bending, and climbing.

Operating equipment and tools safely.

Occasional evenings, weekends, and event support.

What Success Looks Like

Successful employees at UMC:

Show up on time.

Take pride in their work.

Care about the details.

Solve problems instead of walking past them.

Work safely.

Support their teammates.

Treat the facility as if they own it.

We believe the difference between a good facility and a great facility is the people who care enough to do things right.
