Tractor Driver

About the Role:

The Tractor Driver is responsible for the safe transportation and delivery of equipment to customers, serving as the primary point of contact during delivery. This includes assisting with unloading when necessary and ensuring a positive customer experience. The role also involves performing pre-trip inspections to check the mechanical aspects of the vehicle, complying with all DOT standards and regulations, and reporting any incidents involving equipment damage to supervision. In addition to delivery duties, the Tractor Driver supports rental and leasing operations by operating tractors and related heavy equipment for tasks such as land preparation, equipment transportation, and maintenance activities. The position requires working in all weather conditions and performing manual labor tasks, including the use of hand tools and pallet jacks.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class A CDL and relevant driving experience.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate simple sentences effectively in English.
  • Demonstrated experience working in all weather conditions and performing manual labor.
  • Physical capability to perform demanding tasks including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the rental and leasing services industry or similar heavy equipment operation roles.
  • Additional certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance or safety training.
  • Experience with equipment inventory management and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with site supervisors and colleagues.

Responsibilities:

  • Transport and deliver equipment to customers, ensuring timely and safe arrival.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure compliance with DOT standards and regulations.
  • Operate tractors and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently to support rental and leasing operations.
  • Maintain and inspect equipment regularly to ensure proper functioning.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions while adhering to safety guidelines and company policies.
  • Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting equipment to and from job sites as required.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for urgent customer inquiries and equipment rental needs.
