Roles of a Tractor Technician Trainee
- Support Role – Assist senior technicians in repairing, maintaining, and servicing tractors.
- Learning & Development – Gain hands-on training in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues.
- Workshop Discipline – Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and 5S practices in the workshop.
- Customer Service Support – Observe and learn how to interact with customers during service or field visits.
- Documentation – Learn to maintain job cards, service reports, and parts usage records.
Responsibilities
- Service Assistance
- Help in routine maintenance: oil change, filter replacement, lubrication, coolant check, etc.
- Assist in major repairs under guidance (engine, transmission, hydraulics).
- Support in tractor PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) and periodic service.
- Diagnostic Support
- Observe and assist in identifying mechanical or electrical issues.
- Learn to use diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Workshop & Tools
- Keep tools, equipment, and service bay clean and organized.
- Ensure proper usage and storage of special tools.
- Field Visits
- Accompany senior technicians for on-field breakdown service.
- Learn troubleshooting methods at customer sites.
- Learning & Reporting
- Attend training sessions provided by the dealership or OEM (Mahindra, etc.).
- Report daily tasks and learning progress to the Service Incharge/Workshop Manager.
- Compliance & Safety
- Wear proper uniform, PPE, and follow all safety rules.
- Adhere to dealership policies and manufacturer service standards.
