OPEN POSITION: Traditional Labor Law Partner/Counsel

Title: Counsel/Partner Department: Labor & Employment

Reports to: Equity Partner FLSA Type: Exempt

The Counsel/Non-Equity Partner must have strong traditional labor law experience to represent management clients in arbitration, grievance proceedings, collective bargaining, mediations, NLRB proceedings, and litigation.

  • Regularly represent management clients in arbitration, grievance proceedings, collective bargaining, mediation, litigation in state and federal court and before local, state and federal agencies.
  • Daily consultation with clients on the administration of collective bargaining agreements as well as compliance with local, state, and federal laws and HR-related matters.
  • Assist in negotiation and drafting of collective bargaining agreements, employment agreements, non-disclosure agreements, settlement and separation agreements, bulletins and memoranda.
  • Conduct training and webinars labor – management issues, wage and hour compliance, and other areas
  • Other duties, projects and assignments as required.
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in New York; admission in New Jersey is a plus.
  • 8+ years of traditional labor law experience in a law firm setting.
  • Strong knowledge of civil procedure, evidence rules, and experience in both state and federal courts.
  • Excellent legal research, analytical, writing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in legal research and case management software.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, public speaking, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.

In performing the duties here in the employee is exposed to the below work environment conditions:

· A fast-paced environment determined by projects to be completed.

· Variances of noise and temperature.

· Possible stress and mental fatigue due to the speed of the office tasks.

· This position is a hybrid position based out of our New York office, with 3 days onsite (currently M-W), and additional in-office or in-person attendance as needed.

· Schedule will dictate additional days in NYC as required.

$250,000-$315,000

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $250,000.00 - $315,000.00 per year
