Role Overview
The
Traffic Operator
plays a key role in ensuring the seamless execution of physical commodity transactions at Kommodity Trading. This position is responsible for managing the end-to-end operational process — from deal structuring and documentation to logistics coordination and client communication.
The ideal candidate will act as the central link between internal commercial teams, service providers, and clients, ensuring efficient movement of commodities while maintaining full compliance with company policies and international trade regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Manage the relationship with Clients and Service Providers.

Monitor and manage the daily operations and each Client’s exposure.

Structure Deals in coordination with the Commercial Team.

Providing instructions to service providers and collateral managers (transport forwarders, warehouses, inspectors and laboratories).

Make sure the security protocols stipulated by KT is being followed for commodity transportation and storage.

Preparation of Payments and invoicing.

Reconciling and follow up on weights, sampling and assays.

LME/hedge instruction/position & price follow up.

Follow up and execution of sales through doc LCs, doc collection and open account.
Role Requirements
-
University Degree in a relevant discipline (Finance, Business, Management)

3-6 years’ experience in operations at a physical commodity trading house or producer.

Experience with metals and concentrates in Southern Africa region.

Exposure to inland African logistics and supply chain.

Experience with customs rules in South Africa, Zambia, DRC and Tanzania.

Understanding of Metals and Concentrates production.
