Trailer Technician

$2,500 SIGN ON BONUS

Role:

The Trailer Mechanic maintains refrigerated and dry van trailers by completing inspections and preventive maintenance requirements; correcting equipment deficiencies; making adjustments and alignments; keeping records.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Diagnosing refrigerated/dry van trailer problems on multiple makes and models of trailers.
• Maintenance and repairs on multiple makes and models of refrigerated/dry van trailers.
• Perform preventative maintenance inspections on various makes and models of refrigerated/dry van trailers.
• Maintain accurate vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
• Ensuring compliance with company safety procedures and policies.
• Corrects vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts, or systems.
• Abide by all Company yard control safety guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Experience: 1 or more year’s related experience working on Class 8 Trailers or active enrollment/completion of Diesel Technician certification.

Education: A high school diploma or GED required.

Certifications/ Valid CDL Class B or above & PA Class 7 State Inspection License, a plus.

Welding/fabrication a plus, but not required.
