Trainee Bookkeeper / Accountant (UK BASED FIRM)

We are a UK-based accountancy firm with a growing back office in Islamabad (I-8/4), and we’re looking to hire a Trainee Bookkeeper / Accountant to support our UK operations.

This is a full-time, office-based position with working hours from 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM (Pakistan time), Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

• Record and maintain financial transactions using accounting software (e.g. Xero, VT)
• Assist with VAT returns, year-end accounts, and other compliance work
• Perform reconciliations, maintain ledgers, and support basic bookkeeping tasks
• Communicate with the UK team to support ongoing client needs

Qualifications (any of the following will be accepted):

• B.Com, M.Com, or BS Accounting & Finance from a recognised university
• Part-qualified or currently studying towards:
• ACCA
• CA (CAF or above) – ICAP
• ICMA Pakistan

Essential Skills:

• Basic understanding of accounting principles
• Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Willingness to learn and adapt to UK accounting and tax systems

Based on qualifications, experience, and familiarity with UK systems
