Trainee Media Planning & Consulting

The Trainee Media Planning & Consulting participates in a structured, hands on training programme within the Media Planning & Consulting function of the Media & Strategy division. Over the course of the traineeship the Trainee gains comprehensive exposure to the full media planning process, from audience research and strategy development through to plan execution, performance monitoring, and client reporting. The Trainee works closely with experienced planners and consultants, contributing to live client mandates while systematically building expertise in planning methodology, media tools, and the media market. This role is designed to develop talented graduates into confident, independently operating Media Planners & Consultants.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the development of integrated media plans by supporting audience research, channel analysis, reach and frequency modelling, and budget structuring.
  • Assist in deriving media mix recommendations and translating strategic objectives into concrete planning parameters.
  • Conduct target audience and media consumption research using relevant tools and data sources; document and present findings clearly.
  • Support the preparation of client presentations, media plan documents, and strategy papers.
  • Assist in defining KPI frameworks for assigned client projects and help monitor campaign performance over the course of campaigns.
  • Support the evaluation of media proposals and publisher offerings, helping to assess them against strategic and commercial criteria.
  • Assist with the briefing and coordination of shared service units under the guidance of senior colleagues.
  • Support budget tracking and revenue forecast documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Contribute to competitive analyses and media landscape research, deriving and presenting insights in a structured manner.
  • Assist in the preparation of performance reports and post-campaign analyses for client review.
  • Develop proficiency in media planning tools, audience measurement systems (e.g., AGF, ma), and agency planning platforms.
  • Build a solid understanding of the media and publisher landscape across all relevant channels.
  • Support audit documentation and ensure materials are complete and accurately filed.
  • Participate in client meetings, team reviews, and internal training sessions, actively contributing to discussions.
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing initiatives and team projects within the division.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to gather, structure, and present data and research findings clearly.
  • Eagerness to develop expertise in media planning methodology, tools, and the media market.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; professional and client ready manner.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word); initial experience with media planning tools is a plus.
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proactive attitude with a willingness to take ownership of defined tasks and grow into increasing responsibility.
  • Fluency in Arabic and English required.
