Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and programming and operating TRAK machines, including lathes and milling machines, to produce precision components that meet quality standards. Your experience in machining processes, blueprint reading, and technical troubleshooting will be essential in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality parts. Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and program Trak machines such as Trak lathes and milling machines using Southwestern industries software.
- Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications, and engineering documents to produce precise components.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines to verify part dimensions and quality.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Use hand tools, power tools, tooling, and welding equipment to assist in assembly or repair tasks as needed.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to optimize machining processes, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
- Maintain accurate documentation of machining processes, inspection reports, and production logs for quality control purposes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a machinist with strong mechanical knowledge of manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in Trak programming and operation, especially with Trak Lathes
- Skilled in reading blueprints and engineering drawings with GD&T specifications.
- Familiarity with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar programs for part design review.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining (EDM), plastics injection molding, and welding techniques is a plus.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines accurately.
- Basic math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and measurements.
- Experience working with tooling setups, hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment such as forklifts when necessary.
Pay: $26.79 - $32.27 per hour
