Transfer and Delivery Driver

Overview
Event Rentals is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Transfer Driver to join our team. This position is responsible for operating a 26-foot box truck to transport event rental equipment between company locations, customer sites, and event venues throughout the state. The ideal candidate enjoys being on the road, takes pride in safe driving practices, and is willing to assist with loading, unloading, and warehouse operations as needed. This role plays a vital part in ensuring equipment is delivered accurately, safely, and on schedule while providing exceptional service to our customers and partners.

Required Qualifications

• Valid South Carolina driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Minimum age of 21 years.
• Ability to pass an SCDOT physical examination and obtain/maintain a Medical Examiner's Certificate as required.
• Safe driving experience operating box trucks, straight trucks, or similar commercial vehicles.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience driving 26-foot box trucks.
• Experience towing trailers.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Experience with event rental, logistics, warehouse, moving, or delivery operations.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport equipment between company locations, customer sites, and event venues.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and document findings.
• Secure loads properly and ensure compliance with DOT cargo securement requirements.
• Maintain accurate vehicle inspection reports, mileage logs, and delivery documentation.
• Report vehicle maintenance issues promptly.
• Assist with loading and unloading equipment when necessary.
• Represent the company professionally while interacting with customers, venues, and vendors.
• Follow all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.

Schedule & Availability Requirements

• Typical schedule is Monday through Thursday.
• Workload may require driving as few as three days per week during slower periods.
• Additional driving days, including Fridays, may be required during peak season and periods of increased business demand.
• Must be flexible with start and end times based on delivery schedules, traffic conditions, and operational needs.
• Occasional overtime may be required during busy seasons.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to push, pull, and move heavy event rental equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb in and out of trucks throughout the workday.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
